Microsoft have freshened up the handful of games available for this months Games with Gold. The previous month saw the inclusion of titles such as Runbow, Grow Up, and Watch Dogs.
If you’re a fan of the high octane, then you will be happy to hear the line up for August:
XB1: Trials Fusion – 16/08 – 15/09
Trials Fusion is a wacky platform racing game. A follow-up to the critically acclaimed Trials Evolution, it is the fifth game in the Trials series. Trials Fusion presents an arcade take on the real-life sport of observed trials, where player controls a rider – in this instance, named Rider, oddly enough – on a physics-based motorcycle from the start of the level to the end while navigating a number of obstacles, growing in difficulty as the game progresses.
Great if you like: Side-scrollers, dirt-bikes, physics based games, racing, great graphics.
Not so great if you: Have anger issues, have a distrust for dirt-bikes, want something relaxing.
XB360: Red Faction: Armageddon – 16/08 – 31/08
As a third person shooter, the player takes on the role of Darius Mason, a descendant of Guerrilla Alec Mason. The game is set 50 years after the conclusion of Red Faction: Guerrilla. The landscape is destroyable, and most of the game is set underground in a tunnel complex… inhabited by alien creatures. A feature of this game includes the player having a device to repair some of things that have been destroyed, like stairs or walls. Also, there are mech suits.
Great if you like: Destruction, first-person shooters, backstory; Also, did I mention mech suits?
Not so great if you: Want amazing graphics, or for some reason don’t like blowing stuff up.
XB1: Slime Rancher – 01/08 – 31/08
Slime Rancher releases officially on August 1, 2017, and is an open world, first person game where the aim is to farm different kinds of slimes in order to earn money. These adorable little buggers produce stuff called ‘plorts’ which can be exchanged for a multitude of things, including currency. Round up Slimes, breed them, and round them up again.
Great if you like: Something laid back, cute little slimes, playing at your own pace.
Not so great if you: want to shoot/kill things, want a solid storyline, want realistic graphics.
All of these games are available on the Xbox Live store right now, so grab them while you can!
